We went to an off-leash dog park where we met a bunch of beagle buddies and their beagles. We ended up with 16 owners and about 30 beagles. Since it was a public dog park there were also other dogs there besides our group. One of the buddies couldn't make it, but she sent her husband with their 3 beagles and loads of food. Picture this: we are in an off-leash dog park (it's fenced, but all the dogs are running free). We have 30 beagles (who are known for being mischievous, devious and every other "-evious" when it comes to stealing food!) plus all the other dogs in the park - and we set up a picnic table! We had a ball!! We sure were a hit with all the other dogs. Several managed to snag a snack from the table. We took all the beagles a squeaky toy, which was also a hit. One little Boston terrier got a toy and was having a grand time with it. His owner tried to give it back, but I told him to let the little guy keep it since he was enjoying it so much. That toy sure made the rounds. Don't know who ended up with it at the end of the day.
We gathered around for a group shot and just as the woman was getting ready to take the picture somebody yelled "Beagle on the table!" We saw a copy of the picture today - at least half the people were turned toward the picnic table to see whose beagle was getting a snack. |
